On its own, telemarketing is an easy, cost-effective way to reach targeted prospects and it's the only form of marketing that provides an
Phone lists are derived from the same sources as mailing lists, but they also contain a phone number along with the consumer or business name and full mailing address. When available, a list can also include a secondary phone number or fax number along with the primary listing.

Telemarketing requires both an effective strategy, such as a well targeted list of contact names and phone numbers, and a proficient execution. Your message needs to be appropriate and potent. A scripted dialogue can turn off a prospective customer so try not to appear too rigid. The key is to speak as you are having a conversation rather than making a formal sales pitch. Listen and let your prospect speak; use your description of your product/service as an opportunity to fill in the blanks. Try to complete the call with either a closed sale or a confirmed date to follow up.

The telephone lists you purchase will determine the success of your telephone campaign, so you want to be as specific as you can. There are telephone numbers available for almost any type of

In the US, the
National Do-Not-Call Registry
went into effect on October 1, 2003. Under the law, it is illegal for
telemarketers to call anyone who has registered themselves on the list.
Since the National Do-Not-Call Registry went into effect, all end users of telemarketing lists in the U.S. are required to register for a Subscription Account Number (SAN) at the FTC's Website. Data for up to five area codes is free. As of October 1, 2009, the annual fee has been set at $55 per area code of data (after five) up to a maximum annual fee of $15,058.

• Before you start your telemarketing campaign, make sure you register for your SAN, have a
properly targeted list, a powerful message, and remember to follow up accordingly.

• Telephone lists are not as abundant as postal lists. The recent Do-Not-Call legislations have
impacted the quantity of phone records that are available.

• Balance the quantity of calls with quality of calls, develop a loose set of talking points to keep you
on track, allow the prospect to speak and listen to their needs. Try to complete the call with either
      a sale or a scheduled follow-up call.

• Keep in mind the number of callers you have, as this will dictate the quantity of records you order.

• We can supply fax numbers, however make sure you are clear on current legislation. It’s not
enough just to include the standard opt-out verbiage at the bottom of the fax. In order to fax
someone, you must have their permission, or have an ongoing business relationship.
